Throughout his second presidency, Donald Trump’s chaotic actions and the havoc he has wreaked on the world are somewhat justified, or at least explainable, if you accept the ridiculous principles he ostensibly implements.

Tariffs were part of the misleading belief that protectionism was economically beneficial. The withdrawal of tariffs was a response to market turmoil. Tax cuts that led to an increase in the US budget deficit were another version of this. Laffer Curve madness.
