Terrorist Killed in Night-Long Encounter in J&K’s Ganderbal

Srinagar: A terrorist was killed in an overnight encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, the army said on Wednesday. Following suspicious activity in the area, security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the Arhama area of ​​Gandebal district on Tuesday night.

Based on specific intelligence inputs, a joint search operation has been launched by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in Arhama general area of ​​Ganderbal, Srinagar-based Chinar Corps X said in a post.

“During the search, vigilant troops observed suspicious activity. Upon being challenged, the terrorists opened fire and their own troops retaliated,” the army said.

The army wrote that the cordon was tactically realigned during the intermittent fires and said troops retaliated effectively with a calibrated response, resulting in the elimination of one terrorist.

Authorities said the anti-terrorism operation was continuing.
