Teen charged with 16-year-old’s murder faces court
A 16 -year -old child faced a court accused of the murder of a child of the same age in Eastern Sussex.
Joshua Ingram, who lives in East Sussex, Newhaven, died on Wednesday at 17:00 after the Seaford station was stabbed on the back and on the side.
The young defendant, who appeared through the video link in Lewes Crown Court, could not be defined because of his age, spoke only to verify his name. It was said that the hearing would start on January 19, 2026 and planned to take five to seven days.
Tom Phillips for the prosecution, the defendant was accused of murder and also accused of having a poultry article, he said. No satisfaction was entered.
Lawyer Fiona Clegg, who represented the defendant, said to the court: “Reporting restrictions have been expanded today, but attracted my attention, there were individuals who did not comply with this on Facebook.”
“In any forum, this defendant should not be named in any forum.
“But unfortunately I’m trying to make police with a small ‘P’ – and the Internet is a very wide place with the court’s very little control – but it will not be named in any way or form in any way.”
He turned to the defendant and said: “You are in custody for now.
“Considering the very serious nature of this crime, I am satisfied and you should stay in custody to protect the people and yourself.”
