Thief prowling St Pancras station caught by plain clothes officers | News

An “opportunistic” thief who prowled London’s St Pancras station to steal a backpack was caught by plainclothes police officers last week.

Hossein Rabah, 34, from Hackney, London, was spotted by British Transport Police officers at the station on January 4.

Kineya entered the Mugimaru restaurant and stood behind a man and woman eating, then bent down to slide the man’s backpack.

Officers immediately arrested Rabah and returned the backpack to the victim.

He pleaded guilty to one count of burglary at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court the next day and was sentenced to 36 weeks in prison.
