A bridge in Western India was renamed as the “Sindoor Bridge”, an inspired name of India’s military action against Pakistan in order to avenge the expensive terrorist attack. Continue reading to learn more about it.

Civil officials said that the Restructured Carnac Road on the bridge in Southern Mumbai was renamed as the “Sindoor Bridge”, an inspired name of military action against Pakistan against Pakistan at the beginning of May. In a statement published on Tuesday evening, BMC said that Deputy Minister Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, Narwekar and other senior leaders and civilian officials will be present at the opening ceremony. Connections via the bridge and P d’Mello connecting the east and west parts of the central railway train runways (Mumbai CSMT and Masjid stations) will help improve traffic jams and connection in Southern Mumbai. The Sindor Bridge was rebuilt by the BMC after it was declared insecure by the 150 -year -old original building central railway (CR) and dismantled in August 2022.

Dimensions of the new bridge
According to BMC, the new structure, built according to a design approved by CR, has a total length of 328 meters, including a 70 -meter stretch within the boundaries of the railway and on both sides, including ways of approaching 230 meters. It contains two steel beams, which are 70 meters long, 26.5 meters wide and 10.8 meters high, weighing 550 meters, mounted on reinforced concrete piers. Studies on the eastern approach, including piles, civilian affairs and asphalting, have been completed in just four months according to civilian body.

Bridge to alleviate traffic congestion
He said that the establishment of large beams on railway rails, which are considered as a complex civilian and structural engineering success, was held in October 2024 and January 2025. The restructured bridge successfully undergone a load test and secured all the necessary gaps, including the BMC, Structural Stability Certificate, Security Clarity and no objection certificate from railway officials (NOC). The civil organ said that the bridge is expected to significantly reduce traffic jams at key intersections such as Walchand Hirachand Marg and Shaheed Bhagat Singh road and improve the flow of east-west traffic on important roads, including Yusuf Eherally Road, Mohammad Ali Yolu and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
