This is one of world’s tallest hotels, but it has never had a guest, reason is…, not located in US, China, Russia, India, UAE, Saudi Arabia

The hotel, known for its pyramid -like shape, is often compared with ancient Egyptian pyramids.

When we think of large buildings, countries like the US or United Arab Emirates often come to mind. But here is a surprising fact: the longest hotel in the world is not in Dubai or New York– in North Korea. The Ryugyong Hotel in Pyongyang is 330 meters high and has 105 floors. Nevertheless, despite its impressive dimension, the hotel has never met a single guest.

Ryugyong Hotel, known for its pyramid -like shape, is often compared with ancient Egyptian pyramids. It is almost twice as long as India’s statue of unity standing at 182 meters. The hotel, which is built with the dream of being a symbol of the growth of North Korea and its modern architecture, is no longer finished and empty.

The construction of the hotel started in 1987 and initially completed in 1992. However, due to the collapse of the Soviet Union and the economic crisis in North Korea, internal work never ended. For many years, the building was standing as an empty shell.

In 2008, an Egyptian company assumed the task of healing the outside of the hotel. They invested around $ 180 million to add glass panels and aluminum coating. This study was completed in 2011. Today, it is equipped with LED lights used to exhibit patriotic videos and symbols during national celebrations. However, according to reports, the hotel is abandoned.

Interestingly, although it was completed from the outside, the hotel has never been officially opened. The lack of guests is that the interiors are still missing.
