Karnataka’s forest, Minister of Environment and Zoology Eshwar Khandre asked the authorities to offer a Penguin Park Development Plan to replace the existing aquarium in Lake Karanji Lake next to Mysuru’s Mysuru Zoo.
The state government approves construction
According to the Times of India report, Environmental Minister Eshwar Khandre has now approved the proposal to build a Penguin Park in Mysuru. “Each zoo should be able to make its own sustainable financially and manage its own expenses in the next five years,” Minister said. The government decided at the board meeting of the recent Karnataka Zoo authority.
This is not the first park dedicated to the penguins in India. Before opening mysuru, such facilities are in Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The decision came after the authorities decided to replace the current aquarium project with a Penguin Park on Lake Karanji. According to some officials from the forest department, the project will be developed at a cost of 30-40 RS expected. This large amount is due to the necessity of the facility, which will establish special micro-class conditions suitable for penguins because they are suitable for very cold environments.
How does the government provide a suitable environment?
In order to build such cold environments, the forest department will need to create suitable conditions for them at the facility. They will need to create artificial cooling effects and maintain temperatures below zero degrees. In order to happen, the authorities will have to strengthen the facility during the day for the operation of freezers and air conditioners. According to the first plans of the state government, it will probably receive four or five penguins in the park.
The Minister of Environment of Karnataka said that the visitor experience of the Forest Department is determined to make the visitor experience better among zoo and biological parks in the state.
