Thousands Offer Eid-ul-Azha Prayers At Historic 7-Tombs Eidgah In Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Thousands of devotees gathered at the historic Eidgah Qutb Shahi Heritage Park in Hyderabad to celebrate Eid-al-Adha (Bakrid) with religious fervor and devotion on Thursday.
The 450-year-old Eidgah, located near the Seven Tombs in the Golconda Fort locality, is considered to be the first Eid-al-Fitr of Telangana and Deccan region. Imam Khateeb and Imam of the historic Eid-ul-Fitr Maulana Syed Mateen Ali Shah Quadri delivered the Eid sermon and urged citizens to maintain cleanliness throughout the festival, especially during animal sacrifices.
Addressing the congregation, he emphasized that it is everyone’s responsibility to keep the environment clean and ensure that others do not experience any inconvenience due to festival-related activities. He called on people to support civic responsibility and contribute to maintaining hygiene across the city.
The imam also called on people to respect elders and parents and guide the younger generation to the values of discipline, cleanliness, brotherhood, peace and social harmony.
Drawing attention to the diversity of India, Maulana Quadri stated that the country hosts people from different religions, communities, cultures and languages living in harmony, adding that this unity in diversity is a matter of pride for the nation. He also said that each festival conveys the message of unity, mutual respect, sacrifice and harmony among all communities.
At the end of the prayers, special prayers were recited for world peace, social harmony, and India’s progress and development.
Muslim community across India celebrated Bakrid, the festival of sacrifice. A large number of devotees, including the elderly and children, gathered in mosques and held special Eid prayers for morning prayers to celebrate Eid-al-Adha or Bakrid with religious fervor. Religious leaders and scholars addressed believers in mosques and read Eid messages urging them to uphold Islamic values and ideals.
