Three arrested after man injured when gun fired at car in Bristol

A man was seriously injured following a shooting in Bristol, leading to an investigation and three arrests by Avon and Somerset Police.

The incident involving a car on Speedwell Road in the Speedwell area occurred at around 1.47pm on Wednesday.

A man in his twenties was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder shortly after 2.30am on Thursday morning. A man and a woman, both in their twenties, were also detained on suspicion of assisting an offender.

“One man was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remained there,” police said in a statement.

“Officers have been working to identify and track down the person responsible since the incident occurred and three people are currently in police custody.”

Speedwell Road:

Police confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident, but the investigation is ongoing.

“There is a scene of interest in St Anne’s Woods, near Brislington, and the public can expect to see an increased police presence in this area and in the Speedwell area of ​​Bristol,” police said in a statement.

“We recognize this could be a very worrying incident, but we have mobilized significant resources as part of our response, including the National Police Air Service helicopter, specially trained firearms officers and drone units.”
