Three dead in horror crash as two victims named locally | UK | News

Two victims of Saturday evening’s tragic three-vehicle collision have been identified locally. The Police Service of Northern Ireland confirmed on Sunday that three people had died following a “serious” road crash on the Armagh Road near Moy on February 21. Two men, aged 31 and 48, and a 23-year-old woman were unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene, and three more people were injured and taken to hospital.

The victim has been named locally as father Conor Quinn, 31, from Coalisland, and mother Laura Hoy, 23, from Cookstown. Conor’s sister announced the news of her brother’s death on social media, describing him as a “dear father, brother and son”. Belfast Live.

“He will always be loved and missed,” he said. SDLP Armagh Councilor Thomas O’Hanlon offered his condolences to the families of those affected.

Councilor Thomas O’Hanlon said: “This is a devastating tragedy for everyone involved. Three families and their wider communities have been plunged into deep pain. “There are truly no words that can ease this pain other than offering our thoughts and prayers at this incredibly difficult time.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with all emergency first responders who arrived on the scene and were faced with such harrowing situations.

“May God protect and comfort everyone affected by this tragedy.”

A press conference was held at the crash site on Sunday afternoon. Deputy Chief Constable Davy Beck said: “At around 10.20pm police received a report of a three vehicle collision involving a red BMW, a gray Volkswagen and a white Audi.

“Officers attended the incident along with colleagues from other emergency services, but two men, aged 31 and 48, and a 23-year-old woman were sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“Four more people were injured, 3 of whom received medical treatment.

“Inquiries are ongoing and anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage or any other information should contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1654 – 21/02/26.”
