Three militants, four other people arrested in Manipur

Police said on Monday, December 1, 2025, that security forces arrested seven persons, including three militants belonging to different banned organizations, who were allegedly involved in extortion activities.

Four persons were arrested along with a huge amount of unaccounted cash of ₹ 57 lakh during a routine check at Phaikoh police station in Kamjong district on Friday, November 28, 2025, police said.

Police added that these men are suspected of having links to unknown rebel groups.

An active cadre of Kangleipak ​​People’s Revolutionary Party (PREPAK) Progressive was arrested from his residence in Khagempalli in Imphal West district on Sunday, November 30. Police said he was involved in extortion from doctors, hospitals, school van associations, schools, bakeries, gyms and members of the public.

Two active cadres of the banned People’s Liberation Army were arrested on Friday, November 28, at Kangla Siphai in Imphal East district and Ingourok in Thoubal district.
