The state government puts a three -layer system for smooth implementation of solar power plants floating in water bodies throughout the state, including reservoirs, back water and water -filled quarries.

Under the command of a power department, responsibilities such as identification of potential sites, ‘creation of land banks’, providing gaps and approvals and monitoring of the progress of projects and monitoring the progress of projects will be shared between a strengthened committee and regional level committees.

The Power Department said that the panels designed to provide “effective implementation” are compatible with the instructions for the installation of floating solar plants approved earlier this year ‘.

The senior committee is managed by the Chief Secretary. Responsibilities include confirmation and measures to correct rent rents, land allocation, gaps and developers. Additional leaders for power, finance, water resources and forests; Environment, agriculture, fishing, local self -government and income secretaries; And the new and renewable energy research and technology agency (ANERT) Executive Board is the members of this committee.

At the regional level, committees will form land banks of potential areas for development. Managed by regional collectors, these committees may propose appropriate areas of state institutions or private lands to develop floating solar projects.

The strengthened committee, chaired by the additional chief secretary (Power), is responsible for reviewing the technical aspects of each project, including the suitability of technology to a particular region. It will also define potential sites and monitor the progress of projects.

The state cabinet cleared the ‘development of floating solar power plants’ in February this year. In addition to other things, they foresee the creation of a single -window system for ‘banks’ and fast implementation at the regional level of potential areas. The directives, which complete the solar policy of the state, are designed to help Kerala’s full touch of reservoirs, backwaters and water -filled stoves in the floating solar projects of Kerala.
