Meta partners with Reliance to launch first AI-enabled data center in India

Meta has partnered with Reliance Industries to lease the first AI-powered data center in India. Notably, Reliance will build a 168 MW capacity data center in Gujarat’s Jamnagar, which will then be leased by Meta to power its products and AI.
“We are proud to work with Reliance to build our first AI-powered data center in India. This world-class facility in Jamnagar will help us scale our AI infrastructure globally as we deepen our long-term investment in the Indian economy,” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a statement. he said.
India’s data center market is expected to nearly double to $13.11 billion by 2034, driven by increased cloud adoption, digital transformation initiatives and rising demand for AI computing capacity, according to a Reuters report citing consultancy firm IMARC Group.
