Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Telangana Over Next Four Days

Hyderabad: The meteorological department has issued a multi-day thunderstorm warning for Telangana and light to moderate rain or thundershowers are forecast at isolated places across the state from April 19 to April 23, 2026.
According to forecasts, during this period, it is highly likely that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds reaching speeds of 30-40 km per hour will be seen in remote areas in many districts.
According to the forecast bulletin, from 8.30am on April 19 to 8.30am on April 20, the affected districts may include Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak and Kamareddy.
Similar weather conditions are expected in Karimnagar and Peddapalli as well as many northern and central Telangana districts from April 20 to 21.
On April 21-22, the warning was extended to Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Mahabubnagar and Nagarkurnool districts, besides the previously affected districts.
Thunderstorms are expected in Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri and other areas in northern and central Telangana from April 22 to 23.
Officials advised residents in affected areas to exercise caution as lightning activity and high winds could cause temporary disruptions in some locations.
