TIDCO Housing Works To Be Completed by June-End: Collector

Vijayawada: NTR district collector Dr. G. Lakshmisha directed the officials to expedite the TIDCO housing works and ensure its completion by the end of June to enable the beneficiaries to carry out their housewarming ceremonies without delay.
Reviewing the progress with Collectorate officials in Vijayawada on Friday, the collector said providing housing to the poor remains the top priority of the state government. He instructed the departments to expedite construction and ensure that all basic infrastructure and civic amenities are available in the colonies.
Dr Lakshmisha said stalled work should be identified immediately and bottlenecks should be resolved without delay. Of the 11,520 TIDCO houses in various stages in the district, 6,576 units are located in Jakkampudi. Currently, 2 thousand 256 houses have been delivered, while 4 thousand 320 houses are still waiting. He instructed the authorities to make at least 3,000 houses ready in Jakkampudi by June.
The Collector also instructed the officials to complete and hand over 2,000 houses in Jaggayyapeta and 672 houses in Tiruvuru by June. He emphasized that construction quality should not be compromised in any way.
