Timothy Busfield Faces Arrest Warrant for Child Sex Abuse Charges Involving Boy Actor

Actor and director Timothy Busfield faces two sex abuse charges involving a minor in New Mexico after an arrest warrant was issued Friday.

The investigation includes twin boys who starred in the 2022 TV series “Cleaning Lady”, directed by Busfield. One of the boys told an investigator last fall that Busfield touched her “private parts” while on set when she was seven and again when she was eight.

The “Field of Dreams” and “Thirtysomething” actor directed six episodes of “The Cleaning Lady,” which aired on Fox from 2022 to 2025.

Busfield spoke to police by phone in November, according to testimony. He was asked whether he had “any physical contact” with the boys and whether he picked them up and tickled them.

“Timothy said he would probably do this,” the affidavit states.

Busfield later said the children’s parents would be around and it wouldn’t be “weird.” He later said that he did not remember taking those children.

“I don’t remember those kids,” he said. “No, I don’t. Actually I don’t remember, if it ever happened I don’t remember it. I don’t ever remember openly tickling the boys, but it’s not unusual for me.”

The 2nd Judicial District Attorney’s Office declined to comment.

Warner Bros. began an investigation in 2025 after SAG-AFTRA received an anonymous complaint about a separate incident in December 2024, according to testimony.

The complaint alleged that Busfield kissed a boy on the face and tickled and caressed the boys’ heads in the hair and makeup trailer. Warner Bros. He contracted with an outside investigator who was unable to prove this claim.

Albuquerque Police Detective. In his affidavit, Marvin Brown claimed that Warner Bros. “made it very difficult to obtain information for this case.” He wrote that the detective obtained a search warrant to obtain a copy of the investigative report, but it was not served until three months later.

When the detective reached out to other child actors on the series to ensure their safety, Warner Bros. It is stated that he was advised by him that he should contact his lawyers to talk to the employees.

Warner Bros. did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The affidavit states that Busfield “became even closer to the kids” when he joined the series, and continues: “Timothy reportedly told his kids to call him ‘Uncle Tim.'”

A police officer spoke to the parents and children for the first time in 2024 after police received a report from their doctor. At the time, the boys had not disclosed to police that they had engaged in any sexual intercourse, and police refused to pursue charges.

But in September 2025, one of the boys reported to his counselor and later to his pediatrician that Busfield “touched his penis and butt.”

According to the complaint, the other brother said he “didn’t like to be touched but didn’t say anything because he didn’t want to get in trouble.”

In his interview with police, Busfield said he heard from the series’ lead, Elodie Yung, that the children’s mother “wanted revenge” for not bringing her sons back for the final season.

Yung refused to talk to police, saying he “did not want to be involved in the investigation,” the affidavit said.

The arrest warrant was issued by a judge Friday afternoon. Busfield’s legal representative did not respond to a request for comment.
