Tips and previews for racing at Rosehill on Saturday

Race 1: MIDWAY HANDICAP (1200M)
5. Island December He can now get back into business on the evidence of Canterbury’s impressive win a few weeks ago. He had a nice run a little off the pace, got away and finished right on top for what looked like a soft win. Back to the Midway grade, it likes softer ground and should have a similar type of run. Must be hard to beat. 6. Zounaka That’s the logical danger in the form around Island Dec’s stablemate Smashing Time, which arrived from Midway three weeks ago. He pushed hard for second place and just needs to maintain his form to be competitive. 12. Against the Law Things may not always go the way he wants, but he competes well without winning. Starting behind Ice Kool two isn’t bad at all and is always a two-way chance. 14. The Last Druit This time he had two wins from three runs, both coming on soft or heavy ground. Running occasionally wasn’t bad either, and he can run well.
How to play: Ada December wins.
Race 2: TAB HIGHWAY HANDICAP (1200M)
14. Polymer He has done no wrong in his three races on wet tracks at Port Macquarie and has been strong in winning the last two in a similar race. He’s heading towards speedway grade but still has light racing, enjoys the ground and should have good pace to sit back and run home. Good luck either way. 22. He’s In If he wins a run he’s hard to beat. He was a Speedway winner two starts ago and was not disgraced in another strong Speedway behind Chains Of Love last time and was late again. 8. Calypso Rocket He is another lightly raced type and after two wins in Port he has the chance to participate in the final preparations of the Country Championship. He had a strong try at Taree recently, pulled one and is well worth staying safe. 6. Too Hot to Be Bored He brought a couple of heavy 10 wins into this race, not sure of the depth behind him but he was the favorite in both and got the job done. He should respect the stable’s decision to take him down.
How to play: Polymer in every way.
Race 3: THANK YOU ATC MEMBERS HANDICAP (1100M)
1.Omolong With heavy support he achieved his impressive try with a last to first victory over six opponents at Warwick Farm. After the claim, the weight fell, the dam was placed with heavy rail, so the ground must be solid. 3. Satin Summer January started with an outright win at Randwick, then drew on the outside and failed to achieve the best run in the Lonhro Plate. We have a good try again and need to come forward through a good wicket. 14.In Kotor There was a huge following on his debut following two fine trial wins at Rosehill in June. She’s a well-bred filly, an $850,000 filly, and any support would be a strong sign. 5.Gatineau Another interesting first start, just a $5000 buy and was running very well just behind the standings in his last attempt. It might be a surprise.
How to play: Omolong will win.
Race 4: HITOTSU IN ARROWFIELD HANDICAP (1100M)
1. Big Red Tequila He has a great chance to move into third after two excellent efforts behind the clever Ice Kool at Randwick. He was forced to race wide after hitting the line strongly into second as he continued, but still found the line strongly last time. The field has dropped, it is better drawn and difficult to pass. Short price though. 2. Jelly It’s been a bit disappointing in the three runs since the first qualifying. Perhaps returning away will be in his favor and he is entitled to another chance. 10. He’s In Even though he’s out of highway form, he’ll have to join the mix if he runs here. Sharp drops in weight and smaller space will help it stay in the background. 9. Gail Jeanette He has a fine record in the country and had a dominant win on a difficult track at Dubbo a month ago. He could find himself in placements.
How to play: Big Red Tequila will win.
Race 5: FIND YOUR BET WINNER IN THE CHASE HANDICAP (1300M)
4. Hello Captain It was a good thing to get beaten at Randwick a few weeks ago when I was the odds-on favourite. He couldn’t get clear when he needed to, and by the time he left to get home late, the race was over. He’s dropped 2kg with the claim and on paper that’s not difficult at all, so he should be the one to beat. 9. Magnificent It’s getting expensive but the penny will drop with it sooner or later. Recovering from last week when the stakes were solidified and perhaps walking away now may be the key. Lightly racing mare 8. Attractiveness He started again after a break in good style by defeating his rivals in Newcastle. He started as the favorite at Midway before the break and will reach that level. 5th Row He was benched from the second half after Surf’s Up last week. Pattern and large drawing did not help him in this regard, so he can improve. Any lift in track conditions will also help him.
How to play: Hello Captain to win.
Race 6: KIA ORA HANDICAP FROM BLOODLINES TO HEADLINES (1100M)
3. Shropshire Lad He continues to compete well lately and tried to score a field goal three weeks ago. There had been no luck in the wet before this and at Scone he had settled for this grade behind the next stakes winner. He’ll need breaks as he’s generally a back-of-the-envelope player, but it’s a very winnable situation. 7. Colombian Blue It doesn’t have a lot of traction, but it can be driven forward if desired. He’s been well tried and tested behind Accredited to get to this point and if he gets the right race he’ll have a great chance. 5. Multilingual Two weeks ago he reached the line quite late, 1000 meters behind Ice Kool, and this was the kind of race he could have won without any surprises. His record of two wins in 16 starts is becoming worrying, but he likes wet tracks and is fond of Rosehill. 9. Official He is a pace runner who runs well behind some useful ones in three runs. It was first placed in the Moments of Glory, where the weights came down and could give an appearance.
How to play: Lady of Shropshire in both directions.
Race 7: TAB HANDICAP (2000M)
5. Mo Chroi He couldn’t have done more than win on his Australian debut at Canterbury. He pushed himself slightly off the pace, made an inside run and easily advanced to score. This was his first run in the 1550m for a year. He will move into the distance and he will be the one with all the advantage. 12. Nasebah When the pressure was on at Randwick two weeks ago, he went one step further and then recovered and made rapid progress in the 1800m. Was unlucky on the previous soft 6, so no problems in the wet and definitely a chance. 4. Everything Passes He consistently races without winning and is extremely comfortable in the wet. Hold the line well at the end of 1800m last week. Although he hasn’t won at Rosehill yet, that doesn’t mean he can’t get lucky again. 1. Lincoln Rocks He was not embarrassed as he ran an improved third behind Tazima in the 1800m. He goes back to class and claims, pulls OK and he might be the surprise package.
How to play: Mo Chroi will win.
Race 8: RANVET HANDICAP (1200M)
12. Striking Time He is ahead in the classification but dropped down in weight following the claim and is racing in the best form of his career. He was strong in both Midway wins and is coming into a race where he needs to find the fence first. An improving track will work in his favor and give them something to chase. 5. Eye of Fire There will probably be a follower and it can be very dangerous. One step shy of being crushed by Sunshineinmypocket at Randwick, he handles all ground and has the forward racing style to see him be a threat. 7. Midnight Opal He loves the wet track and did well behind Big Papa last time and has been running well again since then. He has the equipment to be competitive again. 6. Gatsby’s He goes on to win the final prep in second place and then maintained his form for several runs. He generally does not like soft tracks and can run well.
How to play: Stunning Time to Win.
Race 9: SCHWEPPES WINTER BETTING (1400M)
Jumping on the bandwagon 4. Midnight DynamiteIt looks to be the same build that took him to an easy win in the Civic a few weeks ago. He gained 3kg for his effort, but his grades probably haven’t finished climbing and a softer track wouldn’t surprise him either. Clearly the one to beat. 1. General SaluteHe is bound to improve after his last start, where hard work chasing the lead from a wide gate ultimately led to negative results. It’s a big barrier comeback for him and he’s worth giving it another shot. 15. Magnificent Moments is the wild card as he jumps into the Listed grade from his BM78 win two weeks ago. It was a tough win and he stepped up when he had to hold on late. He’s dropping 7.5kg and pulling much better than he has been lately. Respect. 3. Accredited He finished third in this race last year and his first run on the Bob Charley AO wasn’t bad considering the wide run and how the day went. He’s a consistent guy and there’s no reason why he shouldn’t make himself known.
How to play: Midnight Dynamite will win.
Race 10: PETALUMA HANDICAP (1400M)
4. Puntin He continues in preparation, where he does not fire and is dismissed after only two runs. But going back to this time last year, she was quite competitive with the likes of Oh Diamond Lil and Fully Lit. He is pursuing a race that will allow him to get up to speed and have a chance to perform. His last hearing was promising and he’s handling everything. Keep it very safe. 13. Invader Zim He’s setting up well, winning three laps back on a heavy track, and has been just behind Mr. Chaplin and Glorious Moments in his last two matches. The conditions suit him and he is right about that. 5. Supermassive He is passing the grades well and also brings his Great Moments form to this one, having finished a glorious third last time out. He draws gently and must respect it. 9. Styling In tow after finishing work on the same course and distance last week. Now it’s a matter of curiosity whether he wants a little more than 1400 meters, but he will get every chance again.
How to play: Either way Puntin.
