As fans got involved in the classic matchup between the two AFC rivals, they couldn’t help but comment on what Romo said or tried to say during the game.

The Bills won the game 28-21 by stopping Patrick Mahomes’ final two throws toward the end zone in the closing seconds. While the win was huge for Buffalo moving forward throughout the season, Romo bore the brunt of the criticism for his call.

Romo faced multiple scrutiny as he moved from the playing field to the broadcast booth. He addressed some of the criticism he received before Super Bowl LVIII.

“This is a normal course of one’s career,” he said at the time. “Honestly, I think a lot of people are against Mahomes because he’s been there. They want to see new people.

“When you do something at a very high level, it’s just part of a curve. I think it’s normal. It’s the same thing in football. You become dominant in certain aspects and then all of a sudden people say, ‘OK’. Then Tiger Woods comes back and everyone supports you. It’s just a normal process of a career. It’s not abnormal. It’s the way it should be.”
