Top Democrat lawmaker injured in car crash

Sen. Chris Coons, D-Del., said a driver who suffered a medical emergency in Delaware on Sunday is expected to make a full recovery after suffering minor injuries in a multi-vehicle crash that triggered a medical emergency.
The Delaware Democrat said he was in one of several vehicles he hit during the crash and was transported to Beebe Hospital for treatment. In his posts on

Senator Chris Coons was hospitalized and treated for minor injuries following a car accident in Delaware.
“Earlier today, a Delaware driver suffered a medical episode and collided with multiple cars, including me as a passenger,” Coons wrote to X. “I was transported to Beebe Hospital and treated for minor injuries. I am currently at home and expected to make a full and speedy recovery.”

He later stated that he was grateful to first responders for their quick and professional response and was grateful to the medical staff at Beebe Hospital to which he was transferred.
“I feel relieved and blessed to see that no one was seriously injured during the accident,” Coons wrote.
