Tottenham: Mauricio Pochettino ‘sad’ to see Spurs suffering

“This will be a part of my life, an important part of my life as a coach, but also my personal life.

“It’s really sad because I know how much the people there inside the club and the fans are suffering. It’s hard to accept that.”

Pochettino joined Paris St-Germain after leaving Tottenham before returning to the Premier League with Chelsea and is now set to lead hosts USA into this summer’s World Cup.

The Argentinian is often linked with a return to North London.

“One day yes, because I really love England,” he said.

“I think my profile (my human profile and my coaching profile) matches very well with the Premier League.”

Tottenham’s victory over relegated Wolves on Saturday was their first league victory this year and they travel to fifth-placed Aston Villa on Sunday.

Midfielder Xavi Simons, who injured his knee against Wolves, will be without forward Dominic Solanke for the remainder of the season.
