Police rushed to a street in a quiet English town after a man’s body was discovered by a member of the public. The tragic discovery was made in Witham on Christmas Eve.
Essex Police attended Mill Lane on the morning of December 24 following reports of welfare concerns. A spokesman for the force said: “Officers were called to Mill Lane, Witham, this morning (Wednesday, December 24) to reports of welfare concerns. “Emergency services attended to a call from a member of the public just after 9am.
“Unfortunately, the body of a man was found and he was pronounced dead at the scene.”
Police added that the man’s death “is not being treated as suspicious.”
The spokesman also said his relatives had been informed and a file would be prepared for the coroner.
Police teams were dispatched to the scene upon notice, and a large police presence was seen in the area. EssexLive reports. The police then left the area.
