Tragedy as man’s body recovered from river in popular UK hotspot | UK | News

The body of a man in his 70s was recovered from the River Fowey in Cornwall after emergency services responded to reports of a person in the water.
Devon and Cornwall Police, along with fire crews, were called to the scene at around 4.30pm on Thursday, July 9, following concerns a person had entered the river. The man’s body was later located and removed from the water.
Despite efforts to save his life, the man was pronounced dead at the scene, St Austell Police said in a Facebook post.
They added: “We believe this incident was a tragic accident. Relatives have been informed that they are being supported by specialist teams.”
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
