Lara Trump, host of “My Perspective on Lara Trump,” sparked a travel debate regarding the time passengers arrive at the airport before their departure flights.
He told Fox News Digital how his “no waiting at the gate” approach maximized his time without requiring him to linger unnecessarily at the airport beforehand.
“My goal is to get to the gate when calling my area to board because I don’t want to waste a single minute,” he said. “If I sit down at any point while in the airport, the mission has failed.”

She added: “I’ve found that when you’re trying to spend a little more time at home with your kids or trying to fit as much into a day, my goal is to reduce that as much as humanly possible, rather than being one of those people who hangs around the gate and waits 30 minutes before getting on the plane.”
He neatly summed up the situation, saying his goal was to “get past security, walk up to the doors, get on the plane, and then close the doors.”

TSA advises passengers to arrive at the airport two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international flights.
According to a 2024 study by Elevated Points, passengers waste an average of 29 minutes of lost time, of which 12 minutes are due to departure delays and 17 minutes are on the runway before takeoff.
President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law shared that she started the walk-in hack during the campaign season, when family and staff were trying to fit a lot into each day while quickly traveling from one place to another.

“There is a technique that encompasses all of this,” Lara Trump added. “I have all the airlines’ apps on my phone, so if there are any delays it usually alerts you, which is very helpful.”
He also shared a helpful tip on searching for flight numbers on Google.

“A few different websites open up and give you a lot of information like where your flight is coming from, how often it is delayed, are there any other flights you can take?”
He said it might be helpful for travelers to check their flight numbers if they are not yet at the airport, allowing them to spend some more time at home if possible.
He joked that if he encounters a delay when he’s already at the airport, he always moves and scrambles to step up.

In July, the TSA eliminated the requirement to remove shoes at security checkpoints at every airport nationwide.
Trump said he has CLEAR so he never has to take his shoes off, but he thinks the change is great for efficient travel.

“It’s hard to get through security,” he said. “There’s no doubt about it, especially when there’s a long queue.”
He doesn’t like the automatic trash bin systems used at airports like LaGuardia and Atlanta, saying they slow things down compared to when trash cans are used by humans.

“I think having this robot do it for you actually saves more time,” he said. “It takes this thing a lot longer to give me a trash can than it does for me to grab a trash can and put all my stuff in it myself.”
