Tributes paid as mum dies on first day of Lanzarote holiday | UK | News

A mother who was on holiday in the Canary Islands tragically died as a result of a heart attack. Mandi Murray, from Glasgow, passed away in Lanzarote on Thursday 28 May, just a day after flying out.

Tributes have been paid to the 46-year-old man, who worked as a butler at The Ferry music venue in Glasgow. A. GoFundMe page It was also founded to help Mandi’s husband and father, Derek, with his children.

Online tributes include an emotional post from her son Steven: “I woke up today thinking about my mom and realized she wasn’t just my biggest critic, she was also one of my best friends.

“She was a family woman through and through and would go to the ends of the earth for the people she loved. “She was a friend to many and was known for being extremely outspoken, which is probably the most understatement I would ever make.

“Some of my fondest memories are the nights we spent sitting until three in the morning, chatting, laughing and putting the world to rights. Then, as soon as I said I was going to bed, I would be called a lightweight.

“Tonight I will raise a vodka in her memory, and everyone who knew and loved her can join me. Sleep well, Mom. You will be missed every day, but never forgotten. Love always, Steven.”

Mandi’s daughter McKenzi also shared a photo of her mother with friends and family and was quick to pay tribute in the comments: Daily Record reports.

One person wrote: “I’m in shock, I don’t even have words. I’m so sorry. I have wonderful memories of my mom and dad. RIP Mandi.”

Another said: “The most beautiful soul in the world. Kenzi, I love you so much. She was the best ever.”

The GoFundMe page was created by Mandi’s other daughter, Courtney, to support her father during difficult times.

She writes: “A few days ago my mother flew to Lanzarote for a holiday that meant a holiday and a break for her.

“But unfortunately while there he suffered a heart attack and passed away peacefully on 28/05/26. We welcome any donations to help and support my father with his financial difficulties during this time, any help would be appreciated and we thank you for anything given.”

The fundraiser has raised nearly £5,000 since its launch.
