Will Trisha join TVK?
Thalapathy Vijay had won two seats in the Tamil Nadu elections: Perambur and East Tiruchirappalli in Chennai. By law, he cannot hold both seats and will have to resign from one within two weeks. In such a scenario, it will be announced that a by-election will be held in the vacant seat.

Reports hint that TVK party members want Vijay to retain the Perambur seat as his margin of victory there is almost double and the constituency is also closer to the state secretariat. This means there is a higher chance of Vijay resigning from Tiruchirappalli East seat.
TVK wants Trisha to join politics
Thalapathy Vijay and TVK leaders are reportedly trying to convince Trisha Krishnan to contest from the seat. However, Trisha is reportedly not very interested in entering politics as she does not come from a political background.
Can Vijay form a government?
Vijay’s party won 108 seats in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections and emerged as the largest party in the state. The TVK chief claimed to form the government with the support of 113 MLAs through a post-election alliance with the Congress. However, Vijay fell five seats short of the majority mark (118) in the 234-member assembly.
With Vijay resigning from one of the two seats he won in the assembly elections, TVK’s effective strength in the parliament will be 107.
‘I want to become Tamil Nadu CM’
Trisha had once talked about joining politics. While speaking to Sun TV in 2004, Trisha had jokingly expressed her desire to become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
“I want to be the CM of Tamil Nadu. Honestly! Wait and watch, you will see in 10 years,” he had said. When the host asked what he would do if he entered politics, the actor joked, “First, all of you vote and elect me, then I will tell you.” However, his statements were made in a carefree manner. Interestingly, the video has resurfaced at a time when rumors of Trisha joining her boyfriend Vijay’s TVK were making headlines.
