Tristan Rogers cause of death: Lung cancer claims life of ‘General Hospital’ legend at 79
In July 2025, Rogers announced that fans had been diagnosed with cancer and thanked him for decades of unchanging support. Despite his illness, he was deeply connected to the general hospital community and loyal fan base.
From one -day role to pink opera icon
Rogers joined General Hospital in 1980 and Robert Scorpio’s role was designed for only one day. Magnetic presence transformed the character into a fan favorite, and gained a legacy covering the intermittent appearances for more than 45 years.
