Truck smashes through barrier and plunges off a bridge into the Delaware River

WILMINGTON, DEL. (AP)-A tractor trailer cabin fell from a concrete barrier on Friday and dived from the Delaware Monument Bridge into the Delaware River.

According to Delaware River’s Gulf and authority, it was not clear how many people were in the cabin in about 20 feet water.

Delaware and New Jersey are two four -lane openings that connect each other.

According to the River Authority, the truck going to Delaware passed three lane traffic before hitting the barrier and entering the river early on Friday morning.

Rescue teams and diving teams from various agencies, including the US Coast Guard, participated in the search for taxi.

The reason for the accident was under investigation.
