Trump accuses Pope Leo of being ‘terrible’ on foreign policy over anti-war comments

President Donald Trump on Sunday accused Pope Leo XIV of being “terrible” on foreign policy; The pope continues to criticize the US-Israeli war against Iran and call for peace.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said Leo was “weak on crime” and “terrible” on foreign policy for his anti-war comments in recent weeks following the outbreak of war in the Middle East.
“He talks about the ‘fear’ of the Trump Administration, but he does not mention the FEAR that the Catholic Church and all other Christian Organizations are experiencing during Covid as they arrest priests, ministers, and anyone else for holding church services while walking out and being ten or even twenty feet apart,” Trump wrote. “I like his brother Louis more than him because Louis is all MAGA. He gets it but Leo doesn’t!”

“I don’t want a Pope who thinks it’s okay for Iran to have nuclear weapons,” he continued. “I don’t want a Pope who thinks it’s terrible that America is attacking Venezuela, a country that is sending massive amounts of drugs to the United States and, worse, emptying its prisons into our country, including murderers, drug dealers, and murderers. And I don’t want a Pope who criticizes the President of the United States for doing exactly what I was elected for, doing it in a landslide, setting Record Low Numbers on Crime, and creating the Largest Stock Market in History.”
The president said the Pope “should be thankful because, as everyone knows, it was a shocking surprise.”
“He wasn’t on any list to be pope and was put there by the Church because he was American and they thought that would be the best way to deal with President Donald J. Trump,” he wrote. “Leo wouldn’t be in the Vatican if I wasn’t in the White House.”

“Unfortunately, it also doesn’t sit well with me that Leo is Weak on Crime, Weak on Nuclear Weapons, and meets with Obama Sympathizers like David Axelrod, a Loser from the Left who wants the arrest of churchgoers and clergy. Leo should act as Pope, use Common Sense, stop serving the Radical Left, and focus on being a Great Pope, not a Politician. This hurts him so bad and more importantly, it hurts the Catholic Church!” he added.
