Trump Claims He Averted 8 Wars Including India–Pak

Washington, DC: US President Donald Trump repeated his claim that he stopped eight wars during his presidency, including the war between India and Pakistan. These remarks came during a bilateral meeting with Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in the Oval Office.

Crown Prince Mohammed is making his first visit to Washington since the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in 2018.

“We’ve done some very good things in this office. I’ve stopped eight wars… Actually, I’ve stopped eight wars. I’ve got another one to go with Putin. I’m a little surprised at Putin. It took longer than I thought. But we stopped India and Pakistan. I can go through the list… I’m very proud. I stopped one that was almost ready to start over… So it all happened right here in the Oval Office, either by phone or by coming in person. Many of these leaders came,” Trump told reporters. “And they signed the peace agreements in the Oval Office…” Trump told reporters.

President Trump has repeatedly claimed that he used trade tariffs to stop a potential large-scale war between India and Pakistan, saying his intervention “resolved” the conflict within 24 hours – a claim India has denied.

The US President was talking about border clashes between India and Pakistan following India’s precision strikes on Pakistani terror camps as part of Operation Sindoor, which was launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians in Jammu and Kashmir in May this year.

Crown Prince Mohammed, 39, serves as the strong backup to his father, King Salman, 89, and is widely considered the de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia. He manages most of the day-to-day affairs of the state and frequently represents the kingdom at international forums.

His last White House visit was in 2018, months before Khashoggi was killed at the Saudi Consulate in Türkiye.

Trump last met the crown prince in May during his visit to Riyadh, the first foreign trip of his second term. He was given a lavish welcome that included a fighter jet escort, a guard of honor with golden swords, and Arabian horses alongside his convoy.
