Tu Meri… opened one crore more than Prince
According to the trade portal, Tu Meri Main Tera… earned only Rs 7.25 billion. The film received mixed to negative reviews, which further hindered collections. Coming to comparisons, Kartik’s last release superhit Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 opened to 35.50 crore rupees. His last non-franchise film Shehzada earned only Rs 6 crore. In terms of occupancy, Tu Meri Main Tera’s average occupancy rate was 34.56%, reaching 18.18% occupancy for morning shows, 38.48% for afternoon shows, 41.36% for evening shows and 40.23% for night shows. Even though the movie was shot in the evening hours, a good weekend collection requires constant growth throughout the weekend.
About Dhurndhar and Avatar 3
Ranveer Singh’s juggernaut Dhurandhar continues to dominate the box office in its third week. As reported by Sacnilk, on the third Thursday Dhurandhar showed a good jump compared to the third Wednesday and earned 26 crore rupees. Dhurandhar took advantage of the Christmas break, taking the domestic total to Rs 634 million.
As for Avatar: Fire and Ashes, James Cameron’s film showed good growth over Christmas, earning Rs 13.50 billion, taking the domestic total to Rs 109 billion. Going with the trend, Dhurandhar and Avatar 3 will be the audience’s choice, while Tu Meri will have to try hard for respectable numbers.
