Trump Freaks Out About Looming Midterm Disaster in Bonkers Ramble

President Donald Trump appears to be accepting the inevitable while desperately insisting that there is still hope for the GOP in the midterm elections.
In an interview with Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo, the 79-year-old president gave a long, winding answer when asked if he feared Republicans would lose their House seats in November and thus control of the lower chamber for his remaining two years in the White House.
In response, Trump meekly suggested that the GOP would “do well” this year while complaining about how the ruling party has historically suffered heavy losses in midterm elections.
“When someone is elected president, that party always loses the midterm elections. I don’t know why. I don’t know why. Nobody can explain it. I ask people who delve deep into the world of psychology. ‘Why does a voter vote for the opposite party?’ I said. Even if you have a good president.” Trump said. “It doesn’t make sense to me. So we’ll try to turn it around.”

The president suggested the GOP needs to do more to convince voters that his second term was a success, that he should be given more “credit” for controlling the southern border and the dubious claim that he “ended” eight wars.
Trump also said messaging needed to improve to tout the apparent success of what he called a “detour” to Iran to “stop something that could destroy the world.”
“We have to explain to the voters what an important job we are doing because there is no reason for the Republicans to lose,” Trump said.
“These people, they’re going to reopen the borders, they’re going to make everyone transgender. They’re going to have men in women’s sports. They’re going to end the tip tax, the overtime tax, the social security tax for our seniors. They’re going to end everything,” Trump added. “And if people hear about this, I don’t see how we can lose the election.”
The Democratic Party is expected to regain control of the House of Representatives in the midterm elections, where the GOP currently has a slim majority.
The intense backlash against Trump’s second term, exacerbated by the multibillion-dollar war in Iran, could also mean the Senate is playing games for Democrats.
This week, influential election analysis organization Cook Political Report flipped four races to Democrats in the latest sign that the GOP will likely suffer losses in November’s nationwide election as voters shift to the ruling party.
This includes moving North Carolina and Georgia, two swing states Trump won in 2024, from “Toss Up” to “Lean Democrat.” He also moved the Senate races in Ohio from “Solid Republican” to “Likely Republican” and the races in Nebraska from “Solid Republican” to “Likely Republican.”
The GOP currently controls the Senate with 53 seats. Jessica Taylor, Cook Political Report Senate and governors editor in question Democrats winning back control of the upper chamber in November “remains a difficult task.”
But Taylor added that this could change in the coming months due to the “increasingly deteriorating national environment for Republicans.”
