Trump Hosts Gulf Leaders at White House Amid Rising Violence, Peace Concerns

Washington: President Donald Trump hosted a pair of Arab Gulf leaders in the White House on Wednesday because the violence between Israel and Syria renewed doubts about the promise of peace to the Middle East.

Fight in Syria

The struggle in Syria began with clashes between the Sunni Bedouin tribes and the Draze fractions in the south of the country. The government intervened and gathered alarms in Israel, where Drze was a politically influential religious minority.

On Wednesday, Israel launched strikes in the capital of Syria Damascus. A ceasefire was later announced, but it was unclear whether it would hold it.

Foreign Minister Marco Rubio, who was in the Oval office for Trump’s meeting with Bahrain Crown Prince, said the war was the result of “unfortunate situation and misunderstanding”.

We think that we are on the way to a real rise, “he said.

Despite an international scream on punishing military operations in Gaza, Israel has successfully weakened its enemies in the region, including Hezbollah and Iran.

Brian Katulis, a senior member of the Middle East Institute, said, “There is an increasing concern that Israel has been released … There was a greater sense of insecurity.” He said.

“Iran’s nuclear program’s loose ends and other activities in the region to deal with the loose ends of the nuclear program,” he warned.
