House Speaker Mike Johnson warned that the possibility of President Donald Trump being impeached again would not be the biggest concern if Republicans lose control of the House in the 2026 midterm elections, arguing instead that Democrats would use their majority to go after Trump’s family and others in the president’s orbit. Speaking to a crowd at the Faith and Freedom Coalition conference on Friday, Johnson suggested that potential Democratic committees would “go after” Trump’s family, donors, friends and Cabinet members, saying in part: “If we lose the midterms, God forbid, it’s Democrats, folks, impeachment isn’t even a big concern.”
