Trump launches ferocious new bombardment on Iran after regime placed deadly bounty on his head

Donald Trump launched a new wave of air strikes on Iran after the regime attacked commercial ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Speaking at the NATO summit in Türkiye, the President declared that the US-Iran ceasefire was ‘over’ and teased that new attacks were coming.

US Central Command said on Wednesday evening that new attacks on the regime were meant to ‘further weaken their ability to threaten freedom of navigation’ in the Persian Gulf.

“The United States holds Iran responsible for the recent unwarranted attack on commercial shipping and civilian crews traveling freely in a vital international waterway,” a U.S. Central Command spokesman said.

The US hit 90 Iranian targets on the second night of strikes, as President Trump said he did not trust Tehran to abide by any agreement.

Following Iran’s attacks on commercial ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, 60 Islamic Revolutionary Guard small boats were among those targeted in the US’s night attacks.

Donald Trump, in a post on the Truth Social platform on Tuesday, described the attacks as ‘punishment’ for the regime’s bombing of ships: ‘If it happens again, it will be much worse.’

Iranian state media reported explosions in Bushehr, home to the country’s nuclear power plant complex, and in the southern ports of Chabahar, Konarak, Bandar Abbas and Sirik.

The President wrote on Truth Social: ‘This is revenge for Iran bombing the ships yesterday. If it happens again, it’ll be much worse!’

They also said that a railway bridge in Golestan province was hit, while the Revolutionary Guard reported that two bridges were attacked.

Explosions were also reported in several Gulf countries on Wednesday night after Iran claimed it had attacked US bases in neighboring countries in retaliation.

Bahrain, home to the US Navy’s 5th Fleet, reported explosions, while Kuwait and Qatar also sounded sirens early Thursday despite retaliatory Iranian fire. Kuwait said it seized the drones and missiles.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement: ‘US forces are alert, lethal and ready to conduct operations directed by the Commander in Chief.’

Trump had previewed possible attacks at the NATO summit in Ankara earlier on Wednesday.

‘We’re going to hit them hard tonight. “They violate the agreement every day,” he said.

Trump had said earlier in the day that the latest back-and-forth conflict would not result in “long-term” military action.

“Whatever happens will happen very quickly,” Trump said, but also suggested the US military could “get the job done.”

The US military confirmed on social media that the US strikes targeted Iranshahr air base used by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Smoke is rising due to an explosion that occurred in an unknown location. Explosions were reported in Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain after Iran claimed it targeted US bases in retaliation.

Trump also renewed past threats to strike Iran’s civilian infrastructure, including power plants and desalination plants, and to seize the oil production center on Kharg Island.

The president’s move against the regime followed a funeral eulogy for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in which a state-sponsored speaker publicly called for Trump’s death.

US strikes hit Iran’s southern port city of Chabahar, disrupting power in parts of the city, according to Iranian state media.

It was reported that nearly 10 explosions were heard in the coastal city of Konarak.

Meanwhile, the US President denied that security concerns were behind his brief stop in the UK on his way home from the NATO summit in Türkiye.

Trump changed planes at RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk on Wednesday night and continued his journey home from Ankara with the new Air Force One gifted to him by Qatar.

It is thought that all necessary security measures may not have been taken yet on the new Qatar plane. But after resuming the journey, when asked by journalists whether he was aware of credible threats to the plane, Trump said: ‘I always face a threat. I’m number one on their list.’

Previously, Trump had threatened to reimpose the US naval blockade of Iranian ports; Lifting this blockade was an important condition of the ceasefire agreement signed last month.

The President said on Wednesday: ‘We hit them hard last night… we probably hit them too hard tonight. ‘I’ll give you a little warning, we’re going to hit them hard tonight.’ Trump added that he was considering resuming the blockade against Iran.

The attacks follow bombings that caused massive fires in Iranian ports on Wednesday night.

Oil prices rose overnight, with global benchmark Brent crude reaching $78.39 per barrel – its highest price since June 19.

All three major US stock indexes fell after Trump announced the end of the memorandum of understanding.

NASDAQ, Dow Jones and S&P 500 futures were down about a point in premarket trading Wednesday.

The Pentagon struck more than 80 Iranian targets, including air defense systems, radar sites and anti-ship missile batteries, late Tuesday in an operation led by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

But despite Trump’s boast that Iran’s navy has been destroyed, the regime has previously managed to block traffic in the strait using small fast attack speedboats, explosive one-way drones and naval mines.

At the center of negotiations between the USA and Iran are the regime’s nuclear weapons program and its enriched uranium stockpile.

Trump demands that Tehran stop trying to produce a nuclear bomb and hand over its entire stockpile of enriched uranium.

Meanwhile, Iran wants the Strait of Hormuz taken under control, US sanctions lifted and the unfreezing of billions of dollars of overseas assets.

Iran claimed that the temporary ceasefire agreement gave it the right to manage traffic in the strait.

Trump said the interim agreement to halt hostilities was ‘over’, raising concerns that the war could restart, but added that he would allow negotiations to continue.

Attacks have repeatedly threatened the unstable ceasefire, but Trump’s comments added new uncertainty and oil prices soared after Trump’s speech.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Garibabadi, who is also one of the top negotiators, hit back at X, saying Trump’s words were ‘not a sign of strength, but an admission of the failure of US policy towards Iran’.

Trump has threatened to seize Kharg Island at previous points in the war, including last month when he questioned whether the US ‘had the stomach for it’. 90 percent of Iran’s oil exports pass through the island.
