Trump officials issue WW3 Iran nuclear strike warning | US | News

According to American officials, US President Donald Trump is considering the possibility of launching an attack against Iran’s nuclear program.
Sources revealed that the president is currently considering both diplomatic and military approaches in his dealings with Tehran and considering whether to take action to prevent Iranian leaders from killing more protesters. It is understood that these talks will continue from Monday.
The New York Times reported that the Pentagon offered the president a wider range of military strike options than previously possible. A US official said possible targets could include sites linked to the country’s ballistic missile program as well as Iran’s nuclear facilities, which would represent an escalation beyond US airstrikes carried out in June.
Sources suggested alternative responses may be more likely, including a cyberattack or an attack targeting Iran’s internal security forces, which have allegedly used lethal force against demonstrators.
Any military action will not occur immediately and is expected to occur at least a few days later; officials warn that Iran could respond with serious retaliation.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that airstrikes were “one of many options on the table” while emphasizing that “diplomacy is always the first option for the president.”
Earlier this week, the US State Department issued a comprehensive Iran Security Alert. The warning emphasized that increasing protests, internet outages and travel disruptions were significant threats to US citizens, and called on them to leave the country immediately if it was safe to do so.
Trump has been warning since January 2 that his government will strike Iran if it harms protesters, stating in a post on Truth Social: “We’re locked, loaded, and ready to go.”
On Monday, the president also announced that any country trading with Iran would face a 25 percent tariff on all trade with the United States. “This Order is final and final,” the President affirmed.
