Trump opens up on request to doctor before cognitive test – ‘don’t want to be called dumb’ | World | News

Donald Trump talked about the cognitive test he took during his first term as president at a campaign rally in New York in support of Republican Rep. Mike Lawler. During the event, the US President addressed the crowd, during which he touched on testing and reiterated that he was the only person in his position to take the test.
Mr. Trump maintained that the decision to take the test was his own and that he wanted to hit back at people who called him an “idiot.” The US President told how he asked a doctor to take a test that would prove he was not “stupid”. He said: “I’m the only one [to have taken the cognitive test]. In the beginning they said, ‘He’s so smart, he wants to take over the whole country.’ Then they said no, he wants the world, not the country.”
After boasting about the operation in Venezuela, he added: “‘Doctor, I thought I’d ask you a question. They called me a genius, it didn’t work, then they said he was so smart, he was a genius dictator, he wanted to take over, that didn’t work either. Then they called me and gave me a bad punch, he’s a stupid person!’ DUM, not B, most people don’t know there is a B.
“I said, ‘Doctor, I don’t mind being called a smart, complete tyrannical dictator, but I don’t want to be called stupid either. What should I do, doctor, is there some kind of test I can take?’
“And he said, ‘Actually, sir, this is a cognitive test.’ And I said, ‘How many presidents got this?’ I said. and he said ‘none’.
He went on to give more details about the test, saying he was warned the results would be made public, meaning poor performance could be “embarrassing”.
He said he sat next to five doctors during the test. “I took the exam and passed,” he boasted.
He continued: “And they had very difficult questions. The first question was: You have a bear, a stake, an elephant, and a horse. Name the horse.”
He said that another question he was asked during the test was to choose any number. To which he replied: “Okay. 203.” He continued, citing what the doctor asked him: “‘Multiply by 9. Divide by 2. Add 1,324. Subtract 1,292. Sir, multiply this by 19 one more time. What is the answer, sir?’ I got it right.”
Mr. Trump also said that he has been tested 3 times so far. “And one of the doctors said, I’ve been doing this test for 20 years. I’ve never seen anyone succeed. So what happened? The second time I tried it, I did it twice. I mean, let me tell you, I did it all three times. Because it’s a positive thing.”
