Trump preparing to put troops on ground in Iran as bombshell plans revealed

President Donald Trump may continue to station US troops in Iran, according to a new report, although he has publicly denied plans to do so.

CBS News reported Friday He said Pentagon officials are preparing detailed proposals for the deployment of US forces to Iran.

Unnamed sources told the network that Trump was considering this option as military attacks against the Islamic Republic have been continuing for nearly three weeks.

At the same time, Trump insisted that Iran’s attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping route, did not affect the United States.

“We don’t use the Neck,” he said on the South Lawn before heading to Mar-a-Lago on Friday afternoon. ‘We don’t need the USA’ Europe needs this. Korea, Japan, China and many others.’

“So they will have to get involved in this issue a little bit,” the president added.

He made similar statements in a Truth Social post he published during his flight to Florida, boasting: ‘We are getting very close to achieving our goals as we consider ending our major Military efforts in the Middle East regarding the Iranian Terrorist Regime.’

Trump was particularly angry at NATO for not offering the resources to help ships pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

In a Truth Social post early Friday. He described members of the historic military alliance, a check against Russia, as ‘COWARDS’.

‘NATO without the USA IS A PAPER TIGER!’ he said. ‘They did not want to join the fight to stop a Nuclear-Powered Iran.’

“Now this fight has been WON from a Military perspective, there is little danger to them, they complain about the high oil prices they have to pay, but they do not want to help open the Strait of Hormuz, which is a simple military maneuver which is the sole reason for the high oil prices,” he continued. ‘It’s very easy for them to do this with very little risk.’

He told reporters on the South Lawn that Senator Lindsey Graham, the Republican ally on Capitol Hill, was ‘right’ to ask him to reconsider maintaining US bases in Spain and Germany in the wake of the Strait of Hormuz controversy.

‘I think NATO has come a long way,’ he said. “Remember, he was a great NATO guy for a while, but not anymore,” Trump said of Graham, one of the leading war hawks on Iran.

Trump’s harsh comments came after seven US allies, six of whom are NATO members, offered assistance in a joint statement released on Thursday.

‘We express our readiness to contribute to the necessary efforts to ensure safe passage through the Bosphorus. “We welcome the commitment of nations planning preparedness,” the joint statement said.

It was signed by the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Japan and Canada.

During the Oval Office session, Trump was asked directly whether he planned to deploy US troops to Iran.

“No, I’m not sending soldiers anywhere,” he replied.

‘If I were, I definitely wouldn’t tell you,’ he told reporters.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told CBS that just because the plans are being made does not mean Trump should use them.

‘It is the Pentagon’s duty to prepare to give the Commander in Chief maximum options; That doesn’t mean the President has made a decision, and as the President said in the Oval Office yesterday, he has no plans to send ground troops anywhere at this time.’
