US President Donald Trump reiterated his close relationship with India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday and emphasized the strong personal relationship and ongoing trade negotiations between the two countries.

Speaking to journalists after a bilateral meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer during his state visit to the UK, President Trump referred to his management’s attitude towards European countries that bought oil from Russia. In doing so, he showed India as an example of a country where he shared strong ties despite trade disagreements in the past.
