President Donald Trump’s White House Commission on Religious Liberty expelled Catholic activist Carrie Prejean Boller on Wednesday following her controversial performance at a hearing on anti-Semitism this week.

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, who chairs the commission, announced Boller’s removal Wednesday, claiming he tried to “hijack” Tuesday’s public hearing for a “political agenda.” Boller was combative during the hearing, defending commentator Candace Owens, who was accused of antisemitism for a series of controversial statements, among others.

“Carrie Prejean Boller has been removed from President Trump’s Commission on Religious Liberty,” Patrick wrote in a statement about X. “No member of the commission has the right to hijack a hearing for their own personal and political agenda on any issue. What happened at our hearing on anti-Semitism in America on Monday is clearly and unquestioned. This was my decision.”

Boller made a series of statements refusing to resign from his position on Tuesday and Wednesday before he was forced out.

Boller got into a heated argument with former Harvard student Shabbos Kestenbaum, who sued the university over its response to anti-Semitism and testified at the hearing. After Kestenbaum spoke about antisemitism, Boller directed the hearing to Israel and asked Kestenbaum if he could “condemn what Israel is doing in Gaza.” While Kestenbaum was ready to respond, Mayor Patrick put an end to such questioning and said, “That may be another discussion on another day.”

Owens came to Boller’s defense on Wednesday after a White House panel announced Boller’s dismissal, claiming he was spreading a “performative Zionist” message “intended to sterilize the Christian faith.”

“Carrie didn’t miss a thing,” Owens wrote. “Carrie spoke the truth, as a Catholic and as Christians, the Truth cannot be defeated. Zionists are naturally hostile to Catholics because we refuse to kneel before revisionist history and support the mass murder and rape of innocent children for the sake of occult Baal worshippers.”

Owens wrote to Patrick: “Your decision will only further the Christian enlightenment that is taking place in this country. We thank you for that.”
