Trump says global second in command of ISIS eliminated

President Donald Trump announced that Abu Bilal al Minuki, the second-in-command of ISIS worldwide, was neutralized in an operation carried out by US and Nigerian forces.
Trump said on Truth Social: “Tonight, under my direction, brave American forces and the Nigerian Armed Forces flawlessly executed a meticulously planned and very complex mission to remove the world’s most active terrorist from the battlefield. Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, ISIS’s second-in-command worldwide, thought he could hide in Africa, but little did he know that we had sources to inform us about what he was doing.”
He also thanked the Nigerian government for its partnership in the operation.
Nigeria has previously come under scrutiny from Trump, who said Christians there were being persecuted, which the African country’s government denied.
Following Trump’s accusations, the USA hit places it said were Islamist bases in northwestern Nigeria last Christmas.
