UAPA case: Raids carried out in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla

Police conducted raids at several places in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday, July 9, 2026, in connection with a case registered under UAPA.

A police spokesperson said the raids were carried out as part of the ongoing investigation in a case registered at Baramulla police station under Section 13 (unlawful activities) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Section 351(3) of the BNS (aggravated threats).

He said the searches were carried out at the houses of Faraz Ashraf Gojri, a resident of Iqbal Colony, Waseem Ali Kar, a resident of Kanli Bagh, Tanveer Ahmad Mir alias Kaka Mir, a resident of Tawhid Gunj, currently residing in Gulnar Park, Azad Gunj, and Waseem Hussain Mir, a resident of Baramulla Khawajabagh Jetty.

The spokesman said that 4 mobile phones and 1 laptop were seized during the searches.

Electronic devices have been secured for forensic examination to assist in the ongoing investigation, the official said.

The searches were carried out within the scope of the investigation into the case, in the presence of enforcement judges and independent witnesses, in accordance with the provisions of the law.

These actions are part of Baramulla Police’s continuous efforts to investigate crimes related to illegal activities in a professional, legal and transparent manner, while maintaining public order and national security, the spokesman added.
