Mujahid Offered Rs.10 Crore Supari for Moizuddin’s Murder, Says Accused

Hyderabad: The main accused in the murder of senior advocate Khaja Moizuddin has reportedly revealed that Mujahid Alam Khan had offered land worth Rs 10 lakh in advance and Rs 10 billion as supari (payment) to kill the senior lawyer, according to special teams probing the case.

According to sources, Vinay of Kavadiguda, the main accused who killed Moizuddin and the driver of the SUV, hired five people to kill Moizuddin after accepting Mujahid’s murder contract. The attackers fled Telangana after knocking down the lawyer.

However, the police tracked the attackers through the Paytm app, through which Vinay had paid to refill diesel in his vehicle at a petrol pump in Aramghar. While two of the attackers fled to Goa, police caught them using the GPS location of one of their mobile phones.

Police sources revealed that five persons, including Mujahid, Mahbub, Vinay and two others from Goa, have been arrested and brought to the city so far.

During the investigation, special teams examined over 300 CCTV cameras and tracked the mobile number used by Vinay for UPI payment. Police also tracked the mobile phones of other members of the accused gang and arrested two of them in Goa.

Police have reportedly collected strong evidence against conspirators Mujahid and Mahbub Alam Khan. Technical teams collected Call Data Recordings and voice recordings of the conspirators who were pressuring Moizuddin to withdraw the cases against him or face dire consequences.

Sources said police also found from RTO records that the Scorpio vehicle allegedly used in the murder originally belonged to a member of the Alam family. The vehicle was sold to another person and bought back by another person from the Alam family but the vehicle was not registered in the buyer’s name.

The vehicle’s ownership history, transfer records and ownership details are being examined by the investigating authorities. These aspects are expected to play a significant role in determining the sequence of events and identifying any individuals linked to the crime.

Victim’s son MS Farhan along with AIMIM MLA Majid Hussain met DGP CV Anand and city police commissioner VC Sajjanar and urged them to intensify investigation and take strict action against Mahbub Alam, his son Mujahid Alam Khan and other hired criminals.

Addressing media persons outside the DGP office, Farhan said: “DGP CV Anand and Hyderabad commissioner VC Sajjanar have assured that after a thorough investigation, justice will be done and strict action will be taken against the accused responsible for my father’s murder.”

Farhan said investigators were told that accused driver Vinay from Kavadiguda was offered 10 lakh rupees in advance and land worth 10 billion rupees by Mujahid to eliminate his father.

The AIMIM MLA said he urged both the senior officials to officially announce the arrest of the conspirators and send them to judicial custody.

Based on the driver’s confession, sources said police arrested Mujahid and his father Mahbub on charges of conspiracy to murder and misleading police by selling the SUV used in the murder to another person and buying it in the name of one of the hired assailants.
