Comer demands ATF documents on Biden team’s ties to Everytown gun control group

FIRST ON FOX: A powerful House committee is stepping up its investigation into the Biden administration over alleged collusion with gun control activists.

House Oversight Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., is demanding that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the federal agency responsible for enforcing gun laws, turn over documents detailing Biden aides’ communications with Everytown for Gun Safety, an influential gun control group founded by billionaire Michael Bloomberg.

Comer’s panel argued that a now-defunct Biden office may have cooperated with Everytown to facilitate a lawsuit against the city of Chicago and gun manufacturer Glock Inc.

“These records will inform the Committee about whether the Biden Administration and Everytown colluded to attack private gun manufacturing companies through legislation to circumvent Second Amendment rights,” Comer said. wrote in a letter to the ATF reviewed by Fox News Digital on Wednesday.

Chicago’s lawsuit, which lists Everytown’s legal arm as the plaintiff’s attorney, was filed in March 2024 and alleged that Glock sold handguns that the firearms maker knew could be easily modified to fire like a machine gun.

“Glock understands that it takes little effort to turn its handguns into illegal machine guns, and criminals do it frequently.” the alleged case. “Glock also knew it could fix the problem, but chose not to do so; it put profit before public safety and violated the law.”

In the letter, Comer referenced a 2023 meeting between the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention (WHOGVP) and Glock representatives in which Biden officials pressured the gunmaker to change its gun designs.

Comer argues that Feinblatt “appeared to have inside knowledge of WHOGVP’s private meeting with Glock, raising questions about whether the Biden Administration colluded with Everytown to file a lawsuit against Glock,” according to the letter.

The case is still pending in the court system, and a Cook County judge denied Glock’s request to dismiss the case in September 2025.

The Kentucky lawmaker also highlighted the close ties between the Biden White House and Everytown. The letter states that Biden’s deputy, Rob Wilcox, worked at Everytown for eight years before working at WHOGVP.

Biden also chaired the Everytown action fund’s annual education conference, known as Gun Sense University, in June 2024, at which he reiterated his support for a nationwide ban on so-called assault weapons.

Wednesday’s letter comes after the GOP-led panel asked the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) in April for communications between the Biden White House and Everytown.

House Republicans had previously subpoenaed the Biden ATF and Everytown for all communications related to “potential cooperative efforts,” but neither party complied with the request.

Comer also argued that the committee’s investigation would help lawmakers consider whether new legislation is needed to combat officials who violate record-keeping requirements or use their roles to leak private information to politically aligned third parties.

A spokesman for the ATF did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
