Trump says Iranian leader has asked for a ceasefire

US President Donald Trump said in his Truth Social post that Iran’s new leader has asked for a ceasefire from the US.
“We will evaluate the Strait of Hormuz when it is open, free and clean. Until then, we will condemn Iran to oblivion,” he said.
Trump told Reuters on Wednesday, hours before he was scheduled to give a prime-time speech, that the United States would “get out of Iran pretty quickly” and could return for “pinpoint strikes” if necessary.
Trump also said that he would indicate in his speech that he was considering withdrawing the United States from the NATO military alliance.
The US president has previously said that even if Iran does not agree to a ceasefire, he could withdraw from the war within two to three weeks after ensuring that it cannot build a nuclear weapon.
