Trump says meeting to make final decision on Iran deal

US President Donald Trump said in his social media post that he will attend a meeting in the White House Situation Room to make the final decision on the agreement to be reached with Iran.
He also listed what a potential deal should include: Iran agreeing not to develop nuclear weapons, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, removing all naval mines, lifting the US blockade of Iran, and removing and destroying Iran’s highly enriched uranium by the US.
“There will be no monetary exchange until further notice. Other items of much less importance have been agreed upon. I will now meet in the Situation Room to reach a final decision,” Trump said in his post on Truth Social.

Trump confirmed the high-level White House talks a day after multiple news outlets reported that U.S. and Iranian negotiators had agreed to an interim deal.
The interim agreement would maintain a 60-day ceasefire in the three-month-old war and kick off a new round of talks on Iran’s controversial nuclear program, according to a U.S. official familiar with the matter.
U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance said Thursday that the sides continue to discuss “a few language issues” and that he could not say whether Trump would approve the proposal.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf said Friday on
Kalibaf, who attended the negotiations in Qatar this week, wrote, “We get concessions with missiles, not with talks. We only make them understand this in the negotiations.”
He added: “The winner of any agreement is the one who is better prepared for war on the day it is signed.”
