Trump scrambles Cabinet for rare Camp David summit… as chilling decision looms behind closed doors

Donald Trump is postponing a highly unusual visit to Camp David on Wednesday, where he planned to meet with his Cabinet as high-stakes Iran peace talks hang by a thread.
Instead, Trump announced that he would hold the Cabinet session at the White House due to ‘possible bad weather conditions’.
In a major show of executive unity, every member of the Cabinet, including outgoing Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, was expected to join Trump at the historic presidential retreat in rural Maryland.
Trump’s last visit to Camp David took place in June last year, just two weeks before the United States launched an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, called Operation Midnight Hammer.
The ultra-secure, 125-acre compound is located within Catoctin Mountain Park and is heavily guarded by the US Marine Corps. The castle-like environment provides the perfect blackout zone for keeping sensitive, high-level conversations completely away from unwanted guests or members of the media.
A White House official told the Daily Mail that the Cabinet will discuss foreign policy as well as other issues such as the economy, small business gains and updates from the Fraud Elimination Task Force.
The shadow of war will completely loom over the summit after the United States launched fierce air strikes on targets in southern Iran late Monday.
The military action triggered immediate anger from Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, who issued a chilling threat against American military bases in the Middle East.
Trump warned that either Iran would accept a deal or the United States would return to attacks.

President Donald Trump is making a highly unusual escape to Camp David tomorrow and is set to meet with his cabinet as high-stakes peace talks with Iran reach a fever pitch.
The President posted on Truth Social on Monday: “It’s just going to be a Big Deal for everyone or no Deal at all – Back to the War Front and shooting, but bigger and stronger than ever – And no one wants that.”
Secretary of State Marco Rubio admitted in a statement early Tuesday that secret negotiations were still a feverish effort, warning that it could take “several days” of intensive work to finalize the details.
But there is a caveat: the entire high-risk summit is at risk of being canceled altogether at the eleventh hour due to bad weather.
Although Trump usually flies to Camp David by helicopter, heavy rain in Washington could lead to a ‘sudden change of location’ if the weather does not clear.
If progress is made, the upcoming meeting would bring Trump’s career total of Camp David visits to just 17 over his two presidencies.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail has learned that the White House will host a dinner with Cabinet officials in the Rose Garden this evening at 7pm.
Trump’s second-term Cabinet has seen a series of high-profile rapid departures of all-female members over the past three months.
All were marked by forced dismissals, sudden resignations and internal strife.

Finally, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced her resignation last week, effective at the end of June.

The President fired Kristi Noem as Secretary of Homeland Security in March.
Noem’s departure marks the first major Cabinet departure of Trump’s second term, ending a tumultuous tenure that lasted just over a year.
The President simultaneously appointed him to a new position as Special Envoy for the Shield of the Americas.
His dismissal follows several other departures within the Cabinet.
The administration faced its next major shakeup in April when Trump fired Attorney General Pam Bondi.
His sudden dismissal follows growing dissatisfaction among Trump allies with his leadership and the Justice Department’s handling of files related to Jeffrey Epstein, as well as friction over the pace of investigations into the administration’s political opponents.
Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer also resigned later that month amid an ethics investigation into her husband’s allegations against female employees, accusations that he ordered employees to bring alcohol on business trips, and allegations that he had an affair with a bodyguard.
Most recently, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced her resignation last week, effective at the end of June.
Gabbard publicly announced that she was leaving public office to care for her husband following a diagnosis of rare bone cancer; but his departure followed months of reported policy disagreements with White House officials over national security strategy regarding Iran.
The Daily Mail has contacted the White House for comment.
