One killed in serial accident in Nelamangala

A motorcyclist was killed and another was injured in a series of accidents that took place near Madanayakanahalli, Makali, in the early hours of Wednesday, when an onion-laden truck lost control, hit several vehicles and fell on a bicycle. After the truck overturned, people looted the onion bags from the truck before it could be cleared by the police.

The Maharashtra registered truck was coming towards Bengaluru from Solapur, Maharashtra. Sources said that an autorickshaw passing in front of the truck applied sudden brakes, causing the truck driver to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle hit a car, a minivan and two motorcycles before overturning. One of the cyclists, Manoj (22), a resident of Nandini Layout, died at the scene after falling under the overturned truck, while Vithal (24), a resident of Adugodi, was seriously injured and was treated in a private hospital.

Madanayakanahalli Police arrested the truck driver and registered a case against him for causing death due to negligence.
