Trump slams judge for ‘playing games with America’s security’ over White House Renovation | World | News

Donald Trump criticized a judge for “gaming with America’s security” as he defended his plan to build a military drone port above the proposed White House ballroom. The US President warned that the judge would be “held accountable” if something went wrong.

Mr. Trump shared several mock-up photos of the “drone port” he wants to build above the proposed White House ballroom. He published the designs while criticizing the judge and framed the construction dispute as part of a broader effort to block his plans.

In his latest post on Truth Social, the US President wrote: “DronePort in the White House Ballroom will be perhaps the most advanced port anywhere in the world! It will protect our nation’s capital, Washington DC, long into the future. Judge Richard Leon must stop playing games with America’s Security!”

“If anything happens, she will be held responsible for the Death and Destruction inflicted on our Country. She has already caused enough trouble by allowing “Top Secret” information to be released and exposed based on a ridiculous lawsuit initiated by an extremely combative woman (serial plaintiff!) whose “navigation”, in her opinion, will be disturbed by the desperately needed new structure – A woman who has absolutely NO STANDING, anyway!

“With the advent of highly sophisticated and powerful modern weapons, we can no longer defend Washington, DC, alone with rifles and pistols. This absurd case must be dismissed Immediately! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

Mr. Trump shared three photos showing his proposed drone port, each showing different UAVs placed on the roof of the planned ballroom and guarded by armed soldiers.

He argued last week that the addition of the drone port was necessary to protect both the ballroom and the White House, telling reporters that it would effectively turn the structure into a protective “shield” for the capitol.

Leon is a George W. Bush appointee and has served on the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia since 2002.

In April, Leon ruled that the administration did not have the legal authority to build the ballroom without congressional approval.

While Leon issued an order to halt “above-ground construction of the planned ballroom,” that order was also suspended by the appeals court, and construction continues for now.
