Trump strikes Iran after ‘dangerous’ ceasefire violation as peace wavers
Donald Trump launched a military attack on Iranian targets in the Strait of Hormuz after the regime violated the ceasefire by attacking US-backed oil tankers.
U.S. Central Command announced Friday that Iran struck missile and drone depots as well as radar sites in the Persian Gulf.
“Iranian forces’ unwarranted attack on commercial shipping clearly violated the ceasefire,” a US official said.
‘Furthermore, Iran’s dangerous behavior has undermined freedom of navigation as trade increasingly flows through the vital international trade corridor.’
Iran launched an explosives-laden suicide plane at a Singaporean cargo ship passing through the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday. Although no injuries or deaths have been confirmed, serious damage to the ship’s bridge occurred.
Before the attack, Iran had warned oil tankers through the regime media that the roads passing through the strait were limited and other roads were ‘completely dangerous’.
When asked by reporters minutes before the attack how the President would react, Trump replied: ‘You’ll see.’
The attack came as the United States and Iran are delicately negotiating a long-term peace deal that would limit the regime’s nuclear program. The memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed last week promised Iran to make ‘best efforts for the safe passage of commercial ships for 60 days’.

Vice President J.D. Vance traveled to Switzerland last weekend to meet with Iranian leaders to finalize the nuclear deal.
In a post on Truth Social early Friday, Trump said three of the four suicide drones Iran launched against cargo ships were destroyed by American forces.
“Frankly, this is a stupid violation of our Armistice Agreement,” Trump said.
The route attacked by Iran had been promoted by the United Nations maritime service as a safe shipping route for oil tankers.
Ending Tehran’s pressure on the waterway, which disrupted global oil and gas supplies and increased fuel and food prices, was the main demand of the United States in the negotiations.
Since the war began, Iran has managed to close the Strait of Hormuz, through which one fifth of the world’s oil supply passes, by deploying speedboats, unmanned aerial vehicles and sea mines.
