President Donald Trump recognized attendees, including former Rep. Dan Mica, as he appeared to be joking when he said the United States would “pretty much” “take over” Cuba at the Palm Beaches Forum Club in Florida on Friday.
“And he’s originally from a place called Cuba, and we’re going to take it over right away,” Trump said.
“Cuba has problems. We will finish one first. I like to finish a job,” he continued.

Trump then talked about a hypothetical show of American power.
“As we return from Iran, we will have one of our large aircraft carriers, the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, which is perhaps the largest in the world,” he said. “We’ll come and stop him 100 meters offshore and they’ll say, ‘Thank you very much, we’ve given up.'”
